Vincenzo Consani (1818-1888) was a prominent Italian sculptor from the Canova school. Consani's marble masterpiece statue ''Vittoria'' (1859) is in the Pitti Palace, Florence. CONSANI, Vincenzo - Sculptor, born in Lucca April 24, 1818, died in Florence June 29, 1887 . He was a student of Louigi Pampaloni, he was professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, Tuscan battalion fought in 1848 . He had as a young man the favor of the ducal family of Lucca that he committed numerous portraits and made him make an image of the Immaculate Conception in the gable of a side door of St. Alexander . His last work was the statue of the naturalist Paolo Savi sitting in the cemetery of Pisa, one of Eugene IV in the facade of the cathedral of Florence and the bust of the architect E.
